Pennaf Housing Group has appointed Lovell for a £5 million, 41-home development at Treuddyn in Flintshire, North Wales.

The work was negotiated through the Syniad Consortium development framework.

The mixed tenure scheme will create 18 affordable homes, for social rent, including 16 two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and two bungalows. Lovell will also build 23 two- and three-bedroom houses for open market sale. Flintshire County Council has helped secure Welsh Government social housing grant to help fund the new affordable homes with the remainder of their cost being privately financed by the Pennaf Housing Group, which includes Clwyd Alyn Housing Association who will manage the 18 homes after completion.

The Treuddyn scheme follows Lovell's completion of three design-and-build housing developments for Pennaf Housing Group in Wrexham and Flintshire in 2011.

"We're absolutely delighted that award-winning housing specialists Lovell are now on site and we would also like to take this opportunity of thanking local people for their input into the development which has helped us to work sympathetically to protect the local environment and to keep disruption to a minimum," said Dafydd Ifans, chair of Clwyd Alyn Housing Association.

"The new homes in Treuddyn will provide local high-quality homes for local families. They will be a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and bungalows with two of the bungalows being specially adapted for disabled residents," said Clare Budden, head of Housing, Flintshire County Council.
